Assessment description
This assessment consists of two parts – Part A and Part B. In response to the given specification and instructions, candidate will conduct a research to develop human resource resources plan that aligns with broader business objectives. You may consult with your trainer/assessor if any additional support and guidance is required.
Procedure

  1. Read the instructions provided in both Part 1 and Part 2.
  2. Conduct research to prepare the human resource requirement plan as instructed.
  3. Develop, document and submit the documented human resource requirement plan.
  4. There is no particular format for your report. However, you are expected to cover all the given points as instructed in both PART A and PART B in your report.

Part 1:
You are to look at a business model of your choice or as allocated by your assessor, and research your Human Resource Planning requirements.
This requires the development of a strategic human resources plan which includes relevant research and data, which demonstrates a clear alignment with broader business objectives
In undertaking this task, you are to:
● Analyse your businesses strategic plans to determine human resources strategic direction, objectives and targets
● Undertake additional environmental analysis to identify emerging practices and trends which may impact on human resources management in the organisation
● Identify future labour needs and skill requirements and options for sourcing labour supply
● Consider new technology and its impact on job roles and job design
● Review recent and potential changes to industrial/legal requirements

You are to outline your research in the form of a written report and present it to your assessor for appraisal.

Part B:
Next, you are to develop your Human Resources strategic plan (based on your research). In developing this detailed document, you are to:
● Consult with your assessor who will play the role of your manager about his/her human resources preferences
● Agree on human resources philosophies, values and policies with relevant managers
● Develop strategic objectives and targets for human resources services
● Examine options for the provision of human resources services and analyse costs and benefits
● Identify appropriate technology and systems to support agreed human resources programs and practices
● Write strategic human resources plan and obtain your managers (assessors) support for the plan – You will need to “sell” your plan to gain support.
● Develop risk management plans to support the strategic human resources plan
● Provide a detailed procedure on how you would implement and monitor your human resources strategic plan
