Begin your research for the Major Research Paper by selecting one of the theories from the course (e.g. Scientific Management, Social Person Era, Authority, etc.)

Step 2
Select a contemporary business issue of your choosing.

Step 3
Select a specific aspect of social responsibility to use in your paper.

Step 4
Conduct research to locate articles that address the contemporary business issue you chose using the theory you chose. For example, if your contemporary business issue is employee retention and you chose Social Person Era theories, the research you find should address employee retention utilizing the theory you chose.

Conduct research to locate articles that address socially responsible behavior in organizations related to your topic of interest.

Step 5
Integrate and evaluate the research you found so that you tie together the articles on: 1) your selected theory; 2) your business issue; and 3) social responsibility.

Step 6
Extend the literature into a set of best practices that address at least three issues faced by either: 1) your own organization; or 2) another outside commercial entity (be specific about the company you choose).

Step 7
The final step is to extend those best practices in a manner that will lead to a more positive outlook for the organization you chose in terms of corporate citizenship / corporate social responsibility.

Your Major Research Paper is due at the end of Module 7, Sunday December 6, by 11:59 pm.
