Research one modernist or postmodernist artistic movement surveyed in this course and discuss how this movement is articulated across TWO disciplinary areas (visual art, theatre/performance, film, literature, dance, music)
For example Expressionism in art and film as manifested in the work of Kirchner and Murnau. OR
Minimalism in music and dance e.g. Philip Glass and Judson Dance. OR Site-specific works in environmental art (e.g. Smithson) and theatre (e.g. Brith GO). Discuss:
How are the ideas or concepts of the movement selected expressed in the work of two practitioners (one from each discipline)
What is the relationship of the artwork to the audience as expressed in the work of the two practitioners chosen?
