Read the article entitled, “Are the Rich Getting Richer?” in Chapter 4 of your textbook. This article

examines
class standing in society. After you read this chapter, search reputable newspapers (e.g., New York

Times,
Washington Post, L.A. Times, Chicago Tribune, among others. Check with your instructor to verify that

your
news source is a reputable one) for one to two additional articles published within the previous 3 years

that
report on (or visually present) data on income inequality.
As a response to the articles, create a brief PowerPoint presentation that includes the following

components:
Present important statistics based on measuring economic inequality discussed in the articles. Be sure to
consider the mean, median, and mode.
Explain what these statistics are: Gini index, Quintile analysis, and Pareto Criterion.
Describe clearly, given the statistical knowledge you have gained up to this point in the class, if there is

support
of the thesis of the article in Chapter 4 of your textbook.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics (be sure that they advance an

understanding of
your analysis). Be sure to include “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of

brief
paragraphs or bulleted lists.
