Guidelines for Writing Your Scholarship Thank You Letter

• Use the following salutation: Dear Scholarship Donor
• Include the name of the scholarship that you received in your letter
• A couple of brief paragraphs is a good length
• Briefly tell the donor:

1. Why this scholarship is important to you and/or your family
2. How receiving this scholarship has impacted your academic career
3. How receiving this scholarship will positively impact your future
4. Any information about your background, goals, interests & activities that you would like to share with the donor

• Express gratitude & use the words ‘thank you’ within your letter
