Annotated Bibliography
For the annotated bibliography, you are required to present a minimum of four outside sources to summarize and evaluate.
Using correct MLA format, gather four sources that you might use in your paper. Remember the following factors when selecting your resources:
Consult a mixture of sources.
Use cataloged and reliable sources.
Scholarly and peer-reviewed sources
Older and newer sources
Impartial vs. biased sources
Provide an accurate MLA citation for each of the four sources. Then, write a brief paragraph (approximately five sentences) for each source. Your paragraph must address the following:
• Evaluate the credentials and background of the author(s).
• Summarize the main points of the source.
• Synthesize and analyze how you can use the information from the source in your paper. How does it contribute to your argument paper?
Check for the following format elements:
- MLA Header and page numbers
- Centered “Annotated Bibliography”
- 12-point Times New Roman
- Double-spaced, hanging indented citations
- Minimum of four citations
- Single-spaced paragraph
- Body paragraphs are not indented
- Topic and thesis statement listed
Annotated bibliographies are to be written in the formal register with academic language; however, first person is permitted for the third question in each annotation paragraph. How does the source contribute to your paper?
