Essay Question:
The presidency of Andrew Jackson has been one of the most debated among historians. How would
you evaluate the Jackson presidency? Do you believe Jackson was a bad, good, or great president?
Or do you believe another adjective is more appropriate, such as decent or terrible? Be sure to
explain your rationale in determining how you rate a presidency. Also, be sure to include discussion
of at least two of the following historical events–among other historical examples–to support your
answer: the Nullification Crisis, Indian Removal Act, and Bank War.
