The Proposal
The proposal will consist of at least three leaves, stapled together.

IV. The Working Bibliography

An explanation of each section follows below.
I. Title: The Title Page should contain the following information:

II. Abstract: Appears after the title page, by itself.

B) This summary is only from a paragraph to as long as a page only, states the issues that your paper engages, including the who, what, where, when, why and how. In other words, identify and discuss the major themes dealt with, relevant actors, events, time frame, forces at work etc.
C) Method: What types of sources are you consulting for this work? This may include textbooks, 1st hand accounts, newspaper articles, diaries, encyclopedias, etc.
D) *[At this early stage this would be more of stating what you expect your research to produce. This will certainly shift as you review your sources and further develop your research]
E) The wording used here should be along the lines of the following:
“In order to complete this study, the author will consult…”
F) Thesis statement: clearly indicate what your intention/position/objective is in your paper. The Thesis statement is usually the final sentence of the Abstract.
After the factors of the paper are mentioned, one might say: …”Therefore, this paper will…”
III. Outline:
IV. Proposed Bibliography:
A) Appearing on the last page of the work by itself, the Proposed Bibliography will identify the sources that the student thinks they will use for the research for this paper.
B) Not every book, journal article, newspaper, etc. mentioned will have been read by this point, but this begins the process of identifying and gathering sources.
V. Format:
The format for the rough and the final draft will be the Chicago Manual Style. Utilize it to organize your Bibliography and footnotes throughout the work. See: “How To: Cite in Chicago Manual Style” to insert citations and Bibliographical Sources tutorial https://youtu.be/aLnkwV1gZa4
