Alfred Hitchcock

Choose two scenes, each from a different Hitchcock film we have seen in class, where you examine one of the “plot formations” described by Robin Wood in his short essay “Plot Formations”. Compare the ways in which the two scenes deal with one of the plot tropes that Robin Wood considers central to the films of Alfred Hitchcock. When writing your answer, remember how our class has placed emphasis on the unique ability of Hitchcock to use film form to create content. Films to choose from: The Lodger, The Lady Vanishes, Rebecca, Shadow of a Doubt, Notorious, Strangers on a Train.
