Choose a topic of interest that is related to a specific health problem/condition in a specific population. This is not a hospital or clinic based intervention. It is to focus on a public health issue and a specific population. Examples include tobacco use in adolescents in Los Angeles, maternal malnutrition in rural Cambodia, or low exercise levels in urban Uganda.
The bulk of your paper will develop a public health program that can improve the disease/condition that will impact the current status. Please find a program that is being used for another issue or in different population and apply it to the problem and population you have selected. You do not have to invent an entirely new health program, rather adapt and adjust an existing evidenced-based plan to meet the population health need you have identified. Be sure and select a topic that has supporting data. Your paper will include an overview of the problem using national, state, local, or county data to describe why it is a health issue.
