Adaptive-servo ventilation therapy project will consist of an In-Service on Adaptive Servo-Ventilation Therapy (ASV) that is presented to my department, which includes RT’s and RN’s. Many clinicians
are not aware of ASV and its benefits, unless they have had a sleep background. ASV has started to be used to wean patients off the ventilator as compared to Pressure
Support Ventilation (PSV). It seems to me that it is becoming the new wave. There is a lot of literature and studies available on ASV. My goal would be to educate one
on how ASV works, and how it is used to treat central sleep apnea. I would also like to incorporate the benefits of ASV when managing chronic heart failure patients.
