“A Modest Proposal” by Jonathan Smith is an obvious example of satire, but "The Story of the Stone" By Matsuo Basho also has undertones of satire by
depicting a transforming Chinese society in vernacular descriiptions. Compare and contrast the styles of satire as well as the reasons for satire in the two
