Order Description

Task: Investigate code-switching (CS) (from a sociolinguistic perspective) between bilingual people. You may record a bilingual conversation or find data from readily available sources, e.g. TV, radio, internet. Provide a transcription and clearly indicate instances of CS in your data. Choose one theory/model of CS discussed in class for your analysis. Note that the aim is to identify social functions of CS and not grammatical or cognitive aspects.

Structure of assignment
The assignment is a small-scale project representing an analysis of a piece of linguistic data you have
collected yourself. The following structure is suggested for writing up the assignment, although you
may vary it if appropriate.
