Consider the following: What is a teaching methodology? What is the range of methodologies available in the field of ELT? How have these changed/developed in recent times? Take two recent and commonly adopted methods and discuss in detail the principles behind these. Comment on the implications of each of these for teaching – how the method works; the expectations of the tutor and the learners; the emphasis and expectations in the classroom; practical use in the classroom; materials and interaction types used; the cultural context in which the method might be best used; any difficulties they might pose for teacher or learner.
This is not a comparison/contrast of two methodologies, but you may like to organise your essay as such.
