Gerontology – Living in Harmony With Chronic Conditions
Consider the differences between acute and chronic, and healing and curing as you develop short-term and long-term goals for two older patients who are having trouble reading. The first patient is a 75-year-old man who is scheduled for cataract surgery in 1 week. The second patient is a 78-year-old man diagnosed with oracular degeneration who is not a candidate for laser surgery. Compare and contrast the two sets of goals.
