The initial post is to be two well-written paragraphs (not an essay). In the first paragraph, discuss the text and the visual elements of the illustration in Essentials of Children’s Literature, pp. 36–38

line and shape;
color and light;
space and perspective;
texture; and
composition.

In your second paragraph, discuss what a child is supposed to learn from both. This lesson is the explicit message of the text, but are there implicit messages, in the text and/or the illustration?
