Individual Personal Development Plan

Develop a detailed personal development plan through: – research, reading, communication, networking, self-analysis and reflection.
You will produce a Personal Development Plan (Road Map) for the period of the next 12 months, starting 1st November, 2020. Within your personal development plan you will evaluate your future career options, you will identify the associated risks within each option that you have identify. Finally, you will identify and critically analyse the skills and knowledge you will need to gain, to reach your intended career goals over this period.
Your Development Plan/Road Map should contain the following points: –

  1. Career aspirations, a clear introduction, identifying your intended career aspiration (your vision for the future) together with a current analysis of your strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Development Plan/Road Map, you will develop a detailed Gantt chart clearly charting how you will proceed towards your intended career path over the period of 12 months; to include all key milestones.
  3. Road Map Plan Analysis, here you will need to demonstrate critical analysis of those factors (e.g. gaps or weaknesses) which you have identified in your personal development plan that you will need to focus on and develop in the future in order to achieve your identified goals.

[Note, – in your analysis of the critical factors that you have identified, you should clearly demonstrate and evidence how you intend accomplish each of your identified goals. (An example of this could be: – the identification of an industry that you would like to work within, which could be then evidenced by a list of the associated companies or you may wish to demonstrate your enhanced capabilities, evidenced through seeking help from the student careers service to develop a much more effective CV.]

  1. Conclusions, finally you will you draw conclusions from your analysis and relate them to what you feel to be the main opportunities and threats associated to your future career progression.
    Note- all evidence of activities should be placed within your appendices.
    Assignment Marking Scheme
    Your overall self-development plan should have: –
    • Career aspirations, a clear introduction reflecting your personal career aims and objectives together with analysis of your personal strengths and weaknesses. [20%]

• Development Plan/Road Map, a clearly developed personal development plan on a Gantt chart (Road Map) format highlighting the critical areas for development and the timelines for their delivery over a 12-month period. [20%]

• Development Plan/Road Map analysis, a clear analysis and discussion of each point that you have identified within your Gantt chart, (to include reference to evidence within your appendices showing how you have addressed each of the identified areas of development. [40%]

• Conclusions, a critical assessment your personal developmental plan highlighting the key opportunities and threats which are integral to its successful implementation. [20%]
