GAP OF STUDY

Currently, there is a lot of existing scholarship supporting the prevalence of implicit racism that prevent minorities and underrepresented groups of people from obtaining adequate healthcare, which is a serious bioethics concern; however, there is a gap in literature associated with how ministers, pastors, and counselors play a role in mitigating this unconscious racism. On the

other hand, another approach is to examine if individuals who are responsible for providing pastoral care also display implicit racism or discrimination based on the ethnicity, socio-economic class, and gender of the patients that are receiving counseling and pastoral care. I believe that both topics are viable because it addresses a gap in literature surrounding your field of study and makes an applicable connection between bioethics and public health
