Climate Change, Biodiversity, and You

Description

Based on the course material we have been, and will be covering, in the last few learning modules, you were, and will be, introduced to the most recent evidence concerning the effects of human population growth and environmental pollution (carbon emissions included) on biodiversity (and the future of humanity). You may conclude after learning this material, perhaps not, that increased carbon emissions related to human population growth and increased energy use are having a serious negative impact on life on earth.

Please read the following article from Forbes magazine (see link below), an American business magazine. The article lists 9 things you can do about climate change, each of which can impact global warning, biodiversity and the future of humanity. Pick two of the things on the list that you feel you could do without any perceived significant negative impact on your lifestyle and that you aren’t doing now. In the same paragraph pick two other things on the list that you simply could not do. You don’t have to justify your decisions but if you want to provide reasons feel free. Then, in a separate paragraph, describe the top two things on the list you think ‘WE’ as a society should be doing and two other things on the list that you think ‘WE’ as a society simply could not or will not do. You don’t have to justify any of your choices. Please be sure to organize your essay into two separate paragraphs one of which deals with your actions and the other of which deals with societal actions.
